Creating Rules and Content Filtering
Out of the box, SLMail Pro is highly effective in the defense against a wide array of email dangers, but no technology knows your business like you do. Create custom rules to align with the email usage requirements of your company.
- Create a White List of approved domains and senders to
ensure legitimate email is not classified as spam.
- Filter racially harassing or sexually explicit content that could lead to legal liabilities.
- Improve employee productivity by filtering non-business related emails
- Free system resources by limiting mailbox size limits
Content Filtering with White and Black Lists
Use the White and Black list rules to create approved and
banned lists of content, domains, IP addresses, or keywords
to align with your policy. Then assign: an action to determine
how each message will be distributed.
- Approved Senders
- Banned Message Text
- Approved Message Level Senders
- Suspected Virus Message Text
- Approved Message Level Domains
- Banned Attachments
- Banned Senders
- Banned Confidential Information
- Suspected Virus Subject Text

Rule Actions
- Accept
- Reject
- Return to Sender
- Quarantine: This action can be very
useful when you start using SLMail Pro and want to test
your customized rules. By using the Quarantine action with
some rules, it will allow you to look at your archive messages
after a few weeks to determine if the rules you created
are effective or if new conditions need to be applied.
Additional Actions
- Archive Messages –Create copies of all employee email communications. This is a great benefit for those who are mandated to store the messages for regulatory compliance.
- Insert Text – Place text at the top or bottom of every message sent. This can used to place a Disclaimer notice at the bottom of every outbound message.
- Forward – Forward a copy of every message to another email address, such as a compliance officer who deals with email security issues.
