The General Service Settings is used to set global system parameters.
General Service Settings dialog box
If you would like to change the SLmail service settings, click the Edit button.
You can set an absolute watermark for disk space on your system. If disk space on the machine that SLmail is installed on reaches this point, SLmail will not process any more mail until more disk space is created.
The Absolute Watermark is a "hard value" in megabytes (MB) of disk space. The default value is 10 MB. Enter the Absolute Watermark and click Next .
Note: Do not set the Absolute Watermark to 0 as this will allow all system resources to be exhausted.
SLmail can send popup warnings to your desktop if it has any problems at startup.
If you would like to enable the warning popups, select the Allow Popups check box and click the Next button.
Note: It is recommended that this option be left disabled.
SLmail generates a debug file for system events. These log files are helpful in troubleshooting any system irregularities or problems.
You can select the location of the debug files that are generated by SLmail. By default they are stored in the SLmail directory. You can select a new location for the files by entering the proper path, or accept the current location by clicking the Next button.
You can set an required watermark for a percentage of available disk space on your system. If disk space on the machine that SLmail is installed on reaches this point, SLmail will make a connection, but will refuse the mail message.
The Required Watermark can be set between 1 and 99%. The default value for the Required Watermark is 10%. Enter the watermark percentage and click Next .
Note: This is the same as the Watermark value that was entered during installation.
Once all of the General System Settings have been changed you will be asked to confirm the changes.
